Facebook is testing a Read it Later Button.

By admin → Saturday, March 29, 2014
According to a report Facebook is testing a new feature for its News Feed that would allow users to save posts for later readings.

The read-it-later button would create a section of bookmarked section on a user's profile, which could be accessed easily afterwards.

According to resources, a few weeks before Facebook acqui-hired the talent from Spool, the facebook started testing a native read it later button on mobile, which was never rolled out.

Latest screenshots of the facebook shows new feature 'Save' button located below an external link's preview window near the Like button.

When we click that button, it saves a link to the article to a 'Bookmarked' section of their Timeline and a shortcut to that section appears on the homepage's left side navigation bar.

The 'Bookmarked' section shows a site's headline, link, thumbnail image, & the person who originally posted the article to a user's feed, and a share button.

The feature could help news organization to focus more on posting content to Facebook since 'Save' option could boost referral traffic.

A Report said that if Facebook launch a version of 'Save' button, it would be in direct competition with Twitter mobile's third party  read-it-later App service Pocket, Instapaper or Safari Reading List.
