The latest example of Yahoo & Google Compeition yahoo is positioning itself to become more like Google is the company’s possible plan to launch its own streaming video service to compete with Google streaming video service YouTube.

CEO of Yahoo is apparently mulling over the idea of Yahoo building its own streaming video service, according to a report that cites an unnamed source familiar with the plans. The report also said Yahoo is also reaching out to big YouTube creators in hopes of poaching talent away from the world’s top video streaming site.

If that true, the move would not be surprising. Yahoo already tried and failed to purchase streaming video service Dailymotion for an estimated $300 million last year, with the goal of taking on streaming video service YouTube. The company also signed an exclusive Contract to run Saturday Night Live content and recently beefed up its media talent by hiring broadcast super star Katie Couric.

Yahoo always wants to become a bigger player in video, and want to creat a platform for user-generated content is a decent start.  No-doubt Company’s video plans  have to do with the higher level of ad revenue video ads bring in.

If Yahoo is truely making its own streaming video platform, it will have an opportunity to improve the flaw where Google has failed —  specifically, the failure by Google to help its top YouTube creators generate enough revenue to grow as viable businesses.

According to sources, that’s exactly what Yahoo is trying to do in its effort to approach YouTube creators. According to a Report the company is  offering incentives like a flashy marketing packages, a larger share of ad revenue on videos, and also the capability to use Yahoo’s ad platform to cut separate advertising Contracts. There’s also the incentive of promoting those YouTube creators’ work on Yahoo’s homepage.

We are reaching out to Yahoo for further information about its plans to launch of a video streaming platform and will update this our blog with any new information.

According to a report Facebook is testing a new feature for its News Feed that would allow users to save posts for later readings.

The read-it-later button would create a section of bookmarked section on a user's profile, which could be accessed easily afterwards.

According to resources, a few weeks before Facebook acqui-hired the talent from Spool, the facebook started testing a native read it later button on mobile, which was never rolled out.

Latest screenshots of the facebook shows new feature 'Save' button located below an external link's preview window near the Like button.

When we click that button, it saves a link to the article to a 'Bookmarked' section of their Timeline and a shortcut to that section appears on the homepage's left side navigation bar.

The 'Bookmarked' section shows a site's headline, link, thumbnail image, & the person who originally posted the article to a user's feed, and a share button.

The feature could help news organization to focus more on posting content to Facebook since 'Save' option could boost referral traffic.

A Report said that if Facebook launch a version of 'Save' button, it would be in direct competition with Twitter mobile's third party  read-it-later App service Pocket, Instapaper or Safari Reading List.

TARGET POS Malware author Sergey Taraspov russia
The Holiday data breach at TARGET appeared to be part of a broad and highly sophisticated international hacking campaign against multiple retailers, involving the heist of possibly 110 million Credit-Debit cards, and personal information.

Target confirmed last weekend that a malicious software was embedded in point-of-sale (POS) equipment at its checkout counters to collect secure data as the credit cards were swiped during transactions.

The Malware called 'BlackPOS' also known as "reedum" or 'Kaptoxa' is an effectivecrimeware kit, that was created in March 2013 and available in underground sites for $1800-$2000.

Investigators from IntelCrawler found a 17-years old hacker who actually developed the BlackPOScrimeware kit. His nickname is 'ree4' and original name: 'Sergey Taraspov' from St.Petersburg and Nizhniy Novgorod (Russian Federation).
IntelCrawler's sources mentioned that the BlackPOS malware was created in March 2013 and first infected the Point-of-Sales environments in Australia, Canada and the US.

Alleged Russian hacker and malware developer Sergey Taraspov (ree4) sold more than 40 builds of BlackPOS to cybercriminals from Eastern Europe and other countries.

BlackPOS is a RAM-scraping malware totally written in VBScript i.e. It copies credit-card numbers from point-of-sale machines' RAM, in the instant after the cards are swiped and before the numbers are encrypted.

In December, after the TARGET data breach, the Symantec antivirus firm discovered the malware and dubbed as 'Infostealer.Reedum.C'.
'He is a very well known programmer of malicious code in underground and previously he has created several tools used in hacking community for brute force attacks, such as "Ree4 mail brute", and also earned some first money with social networks accounts hacking and DDoS attacks trainings, as well as software development including malicious code.'
17 Year Old Russian hacker identified as BlackPOS Malware author, responsible for TARGET data breach
More details about Sergey Taraspov (ree4):
E-mail 1: ree4@list.ru
E-mail 2: ree4@yandex.ru
ICQ: 565033
Skype: s.r.a.ree4

Now any of his toolkit buyer is possibly the culprit behind the Target data breach. According to researchers, the attackers somehow managed hack one of the TARGET server and uploaded the POS malware to the checkout machines located at various stores.

IntelCrawler didn’t accuse him of the Target heist, but "He is still visible for us, but the real bad actors responsible for the past attacks on retailers such as Target and Neiman Marcus were just his customers". They said.

    Some SQL Vunrable Website

    By admin →

After the big tech giants like Google, Mozilla, Microsoft, PayPal and Facebook, who have a program for a hacker and security researcher called "Bug Bounty", in this one for firm name has been added. This is good news for all the Security Researcher around the world that, now there procket will be getting full, if they found a Security loop on the newly launched messaging apps "Wickr".

Wickr is the newly launched messaging service, like WhatsApp, Snapchat or WeChat, but its bounty reward is much higher as Google and Microsoft. Last year also, Microsoft announced a bounty of same reward ($100,000).  Wickr  make a payment of upto $1000,000 to any hackers who can submit a new vulnerability in its App “that substantially affects the confidentiality or
    integrity of user data.”

Additionally, Wickr will also offered additional reward to the researcher who submits defensive technique or Patch to overcome any vulnerability that researcher reports. For More details on the Bug Bounty Program of Wickr, please download the PDF sheet of it.

The bounty program is open to all citizens of the world excluding the countries on United States embargo list and depending on your findings about any loop holes in Wickr, the payout will range from $10,000 to $100,000.

The German researchers successfully combined photonics and electronics to create a world-record-breaking wireless network that can send and receive data at a high rate of 100 gigabits per second (Gbps). This beats the same team’s previous world record of 40Gbps. At 100Gbps, or a transfer rate of 12.5 gigabytes per second  ten times faster than Google Fiber  you could copy a complete Blu-ray disc in a couple of seconds.
To achieve such a massive data rate, researchers from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) used a massive swath of bandwidth at around 240 GHz  close to the terahertz frequency range. To create the signal, two laser beams (carrying the data) are mixed together (using a photon mixer made by NTT Electronics). An electrical signal results, where the frequency of the signal (237.5 GHz in this case) is the difference between the two optical signals. A normal antenna is then used to beam the signal to the receiver, where a fancy chip fabricated out of fast-switching III-V transistors is required to make sense of the super-high-frequency signal.(see this pic of III-V transistors )

The Fraunhofer’s Millilink chip, with III-V transistors capable of switching at 300GHz
KIT’s 100Gbps wireless network is exciting for two reasons. The first is the most obvious: Yay, faster download speeds! Second, because the wireless signal is generated by a laser signal, it’s an ideal technology to tack on the end of a fiber network. For example, if you have high-speed fiber coming into a telephone exchange or mobile base station, you could then use KIT’s wireless tech to cover the last mile to your home. So far, KIT has only created a 100Gbps network over a distance of 20 meters in the lab — but last year’s 40Gbps world record was set using similar hardware over a range of one kilometer, across the rooftops of the city of Karlsruhe, Germany.
Hence most importantly, though, KIT transmitted 100Gbps using a single data stream. In the case of conventional WiFi, a single connection — between your router and laptop, for example — in reality consists of dozens of data streams, which are squeezed over the same channel with clever techniques such as multiplexing and MIMO (multiple antennae). These same techniques could be used on KIT’s 100Gbps data streams, boosting total link speed to terabits per second — or entire Blu-ray movies in just a fraction of a second. (See: Infinite-capacity wireless vortex beams carry 2.5 terabits per second.)
Both the 40Gbps and 100Gbps world record were part of the Millilink project, a project funded by the German government to bring broadband internet connections to rural and under-connected areas. The project’s entire budget was just two million euros ($2.7 million). It makes you wonder what could be done to the abysmal state of rural internet access in the US and elsewhere if we actually invested some money into it.
